A report on the action plan for the Cloughlea Pure Mile 2016

Cloughlea Group

The mile begins at St. John’s Church and ends at the junction of R759-L4372.

The aim of the group was to research the heritage along the mile and to conduct litter picks.

In their report they list some well known sites together with some lesser known and giving a description and photographs of these.

The covered topics in the report are as follows: St Johns Church, the Cloughlea Bridge, the mine, the school house, the flat field, the flora and fauna of the area, the Kelly gate, the well, Scots Pine wood, gate piers and stile, Mooney's Bar, back gates, Kilbride Bridge, the Manor house, along with a research into two of the local road junctions.
