AGM and Radharc Films on Foundation of Canada

By Jim Smith

The next event will be the Annual General Meeting on the Thursday 23rd March 2017. Following our AGM we will be showing two short films from the Radharc archive, ‘Westward Ho from Waterford’ and ‘Ireland and the making of Canada’. These films, both celebrating the Irish contribution to the creation of Canada, are particularly apt in view of the fact that this year marks the 150th anniversary of the union of the states of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Canada (now Ontario and Quebec) to form the Dominion of Canada.

Please note annual membership fees of €15 (which covers family or household membership) will be due on this date and indeed new members are most welcome. The AGM and film screening will take place in the Killian House Family Centre, Holy Rosary Church, Greystones at 8pm.
