Participants Needed 24th to 28th August

The Glendalough Heritage Forum will be coordinating a survey of Glendalough Graveyard during Heritage Week which will be carried out with members of the community. Support and training for those wishing to take part will be provided by the Historic Graves project supported by grants from The Heritage Council and Wicklow County Council. It will run in parallel with archaeological excavations undertaken as part of the annual
UCD Archaeological Field School and students will also assist on the survey.

The survey will transcribe, photograph and record the locations of grave markers in the old graveyard. The results will be made available through the Historic Graves website as well as being available for the local community and other researchers (http://historicgraves.com).

If you are interested in being part of the survey for some or all of the days please let us know. No experience is required and you need only bring sensible outdoor clothing and footwear. Please let us know of your interest and availability at:
glendaloughheritageforum@gmail.com.
