Exhibition in County Buildings until end Feb 2017

The Avoca Tapestry Project was designed and executed by Catherine Sweeney Draper and Anne Eustace.

The collection depicts many significant events in the life of Avoca village  over the last 100 years, with each tapestry celebrating  ‘a good  thing’ which has happened in the village during the last century.

The tapestries speak for themselves, some of the subjects featured include; the rural electrification of the area in the late 1940s, the BBC programme, 'Ballykissangel', the opening of Avoca Recycling Centre and the re-introduction of the Red Kite into the area.

The Avoca Tapestry exhibition was displayed in the Avoca area during Easter Week 2016 as part of the Wicklow 1916 commemorations programme and is  brought to county buildings in association with the Heritage Office of Wicklow County Council.

This exhibition is available for loan to other suitable venues. For all enquiries please contact catherinesipad@hotmail.com.
