Irish Volunteers Dublin Brigade Cap Badge
Post Volunteer Split
A badge designed by Eoin MacNeill in 1913. It reads Drong Áta Cliat (Drong Átha Cliath) in modern orthography), Irish for ‘Dublin Brigade’. The initials FF denote Fianna Fáil. There was no such political party at that time. Previous to the split of the volunteers in 1914 all badges would have read Oglaig Na hEireann. Post split, brigades from around the country had their own separate badges like this one.
